Our Mission
The mission of the Communications Division (COMMSDIV) of the Essex County Fire Chiefs Association (ECFCA) is to assemble representatives of all county fire departments, communications centers, and other public safety agencies to facilitate the sharing of ideas, procedures, training, and knowledge as it relates to Public Safety Communications.
Objectives:
- Identify, create, support, and/or deliver training programs related to communications practices.
- Recommend standardized guidelines and quality assurance processes for communication systems with the goal of enhancing interoperability and public safety.
- Organize and facilitate discussion with technical expertise on the subject of public safety communications, including hardware, software, strategic considerations, technological advancements, problem-solving, and best practices.
- Recommend to the ECFCA BOD both short- and long-term goals to strengthen and advance the Public Safety Communications systems of Essex County.
